Hi everyone!

I finally caved in and bought these two beauties.

ponypockets dawnie sleeveless top + a for arcade leighton midiponypockets dawnie sleeveless top 2

(edit: colour swatch for Leighton midi added under cut)

Pony Pockets Dawnie Sleeveless Top (White, M)
This blogshop is only a few months old. I came across its ad on FB, and I'm glad I found it! I've been looking for the perfect cut-in top for ages. This one comes in sizes XS-XL if I'm not wrong.
I was advised to take S, but it was OOS by the time I made up my mind, so I carted out M instead, which isn't too bad as it fits me just right, spare for some excess fabric around the waist. The colour is pretty pure white, with just a slight touch of cream, which I only noticed when I compared it with the more blue-based white tone of printer paper, haha! There are also two seams running down the front, which you can notice if you carefully examine the picture on the right, that make for a rather slimming effect.
There is a zip and hook at the back, which makes for easy wearing, though word of caution: the zip bunches up when I move around. The biggest drawback to this top is that it's only half lined, which makes the bottom half slightly sheer, as you can see from the picture on the right. I emailed them about this and they replied within 10 minutes to say that they had considered lining, but thought it would detract from the cooling nature of the fabric chosen, which sounds fine by me. In any case, the sheerness is not noticeable when tucked in, and I doubt this would be a problem for the other colours (blue, red, and black).
I ordered and paid on Saturday evening. Payment was verified on Saturday night, and parcel was mailed out on Monday. I received it via reg mail yesterday (Wednesday) (with a free packet of Pony Pockets-branded tissue paper! not bad).
A for Arcade Leighton Midi (Indigo, L)
I dawdled for ages over this one, particularly because the BO looks like it's going to take some time. I was so glad when they released deadbuyer slots! Size L (13.25") fits my 13.5" waist with some allowance, and I think I could've fit size M as well (only it was OOS). The good thing about this: my mum can share this with me too! In fact, when this arrived, we were both so pleased with the fit and quality that we immediately carted out tangerine in size L as well. It's that good. (Edit: Tangerine has arrived! Review and colour swatch available here.) The material is very smooth to the touch and relatively heavy. It falls to one or two fingers below my knee. Hope this helps whoever's considering BO!

I ordered and paid on Saturday evening. Payment was verified on Monday, and parcel was mailed out yesterday (Wednesday). Much thanks to the postwoman for delivering it promptly today!

a for arcade leighton midi cobalt colour swatch
I think the colour is darker and richer in real life :) Closer to indigo than cobalt, I'd say!
I'm sorry, I only just realized I referred to the colour as "cobalt" in the earlier version of this post :#

Leighton Midi
Hi! The Leighton Midi looks really good on you. Other blogshops have been carrying midi skirts but often look poufy, which is bad since midi skirts are already a bit 'heavy' because of the length. But this one looks sleeker, maybe because the waistband is a bit thicker to balance?

Now I'm really tempted to join the BO. Is there any stretch in the fabric? In between sizes S and M...

Re: Leighton Midi
Thank you! Yes, I agree the way this one's been done makes it fall really nicely, definitely a keeper :))
There is a lot of stretch in the fabric, I think. As stated, I'm a 13.5" waist, but the 13.25" measurement for L is even a little big for me. My mum is a 14-15" waist if I'm not wrong and can fit into size L too. I'd suggest you go for size S unless you want lots of room to eat, hehe!
There might be some in stock for all colours, if I remember correctly.

Hi there, is the pony pockets top a self-manufactured top? Have never purchased from them, and am considering getting this piece. Btw is is very hugging at the hips/tummy? Not sure if I should be sizing up!

Yes, according to them it is self-manufactured. In fact, I don't see anything on their website available anywhere else, so I think it's safe to say they manufacture their own designs! It is just right on me, because the material is really very stretchy. If you'd like, you can email them your measurements like I did, and they reply fairly promptly to advise you on sizing.

Alrighty, thanks! Your review of the skirt makes me want to get a piece too! Not sure if it works that way, but I think they place orders for extra pieces, because even though BO has closed, it's still possible to add to cart!

Not sure how AforArcade works though. I just made my first purchase from them - got the pelmet skirt -, and boy, they really are slow at replying emails (wanted to self-collect). Not about to drop them another email to ask about the BO and wait for their reply =/

Thank you!! :3

Hmm I didn't notice that, seems a little odd though. Perhaps they will order in batches? Hopefully it's not a technical error. I'd advise you to email before ordering just in case it is an error :#

And yes they are super slow! :( Better safe than sorry tho

Hi, you look really good in the midi skirt ! Am so tempted to get it after seeing your review ! Btw, is the colour true to your picture or more to Afa's one ? As I feel the colours of few pieces I bought from them are quite different from the site . Hmmm, Btw, if its not too troublesome can you take a picture of the tangerine one when you get you hands on it ? Thank you so much for answering and have a great week =)

Thank you! Yes, do hunt it down! :D I think it's closer to my picture than theirs. I have added a colour swatch for both indigo and tangerine (in separate post) for your reference as I couldn't capture the colour in a picture :) I hope this helps!

No problem! :) I hope for the sake of my wallet I don't do reviews for some time though, haha! I'm not really a big fan of A for Arcade as their sizes are normally too small for me and I find their service a bit slow, but the quality of the Leighton midi is changing my mind :)
You too! :)
